INSULATING FLOOR SCREED
GreenRscreed® is a lightweight insulating floor screed which replaces conventional sand cement screed.
GreenRscreed® aggregate, made from recycled EPS treated with a polymer additive, are mixed into builder’s screed as a sand replacement to achieve ideal thermal insulating properties.
This results in a lightweight insulating finishing screed, with soundproofing properties, making it especially suitable for new buildings and multi-storey buildings.
A Typical Under Tile Heating Installation with GreenRscreed® Insulating Screed
THE INSTALLATION
GreenRscreed® is installed on top of the concrete slab, replacing the conventional sand cement finishing screed, just beneath the floor finish. When installed with a floor heating system, GreenRscreed® will improve warming up times due to reduced downward heat loss.
GreenRscreed® acts as an effective de-coupler from the substrate. This means cracks from the substrate will not follow through to floor surfaces.
GreenRscreed® can be mixed to different screed densities, achieving different R values and compressive strength requirements. See below table:
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
APPLICATION:
Floors in new builds and additions, with or without floor heating systems. Highly recommended when installing electric floor heating systems for an ultra-efficient floor heating system.
GreenRscreed is also used to insulate flat roof slab structures effectively.
STRUCTURAL ADVANTAGES
Effective de-coupler from the substrate, eliminating surface cracks. Limits rising damp. 85% weight saving compared to sand cement screed, making it perfectly suitable for multi-storey lighter-design buildings.
SUSTAINABLE BUILDING
More effective than R1 thermal insulation installed under the slab as per SANS 204:2011. R1 achieved with a thickness of 67mm 0.84MPa, 260kg/m3
GREEN LIVING
Environmentally Friendly. Non-Ageing . 100% Recycleable. GreenRscreed mix is 85% reground material - a waste material converted to life long energy savings!
ADDED COMFORT
Sound proofing. Reduces sound transmission through floors to rooms underneath and above. Reduces drafts and improves the thermal envelope of your home. Floors are closer to ambient temperature of the room.
ENERGY SAVING
Reduces heat loss in winter and improves warming up times of floor heating systems. Reduces heat gains in summer. Reduces the need for artificial heating and cooling.
